John MYERS
John MYERS studied art history in Edinburgh and then studied painting at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris from 1971-1977. He has been a professor at the Ateliers des Beaux Arts of the City of Paris from 1986-2002, and since then he is a regular visiting professor in the art schools of London. He has participated in numerous exhibitions in France, England, Ireland and the USA, and in 2009 he was awarded a price by the Taylor Foundation.
Since his installation in the Hérault, John Myers has been influenced by these landscapes where the building mingled with the earth seems embedded within a mineral sky. And if mostly of his landscapes are made outdoors, he re-works them in the studio, next to what he calls "his inner spaces". (Isabelle Kersimon, Pratique des Arts n ° 78)
